You Don’t Get To Choose Whether You’re A Writer

I receive regular posts from the blog, “There Are No Rules”

Each post contains links to writers’ blogs. I’m quoting here from Kathryne Young’s blog: “My mother told me something similar when I was young: you don’t get to choose whether you’re a writer; your only choice is whether to be a writer who writes or a writer who doesn’t. What she didn’t tell me then, though I’m certain she knew, is that if you’re a writer and you’re not writing, you will never quite be happy.”

I get it. I become downright crabby if I put off writing. When I do sit down and write, there’s a part of me that fills up even though I’m pouring out my soul on the page. So let me ask you, are you a writer?
